З Різдвом! -- (Merry Christmas!)

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I know I did. Even though it was really different being on the mission, it was one of my favorites ever. I was playing some Christmas hymns on the piano on Christmas Eve and all of the sudden I was playing Silent Night and I felt like I was getting the biggest hug. Obviously no one was actually physically hugging me, but I'm 100% sure that spiritual hugs are a thing and that one came from Christ. It was one of my favorite experiences of the mission so far. Christmas day was super special too! Thank you thank you THANK YOU to everyone who sent me gifts! You guys are the best! I have the very best friends and family in the whole world. I don't know how I got blessed to know so many cool people, but my friends and family list is literally stacked. The rest of the week outside of Christmas was super awesome too. We taught some awesome lessons and we found some really cool new people who we're really excited about. We also f...

Hey everyone! Sorry, some stuff came up with a member needing a blessing and we had to get it all coordinated so I have no time! I'll just hit the highlights! - The institute manual convinced one of the Elders I lived with that dinosaurs are a hoax - New covid restrictions prevent us from being with missionaries we don't live with, which is a bummer! - I got a new comp! His name is Elder Ames and he's pretty cool! A little weird, but he's awesome. - Christmas time is the best time! Don't forget it! Everyone go read Alma 31 and pay attention to Alma's prayer at the end and what he prayed for and how God blessed him. Literally changed my whole outlook on missionary work. I love being a missionary! There's nothing I'd rather be doing. I love you all and I'm so grateful for your prayers. Keep Christ in your thoughts! Read Luke 2! - Elder Horsley 1-2) Elder Ames, the living legend 3) See ya elder Jensen! 4) Meme

My Guy Rodney Has Got Some Teardrops

Image
HEY EVERYONE! This week flew by! I guess I say that every time but it flies by every time and then at the end of each week I'm like "what the heck that lasted 5 minutes". I guess that's just how time goes out here. Oh well, what can you do. Time for the weekly info dump haha! 1) We met a super cool guy named Rodney this week. He's got 4 teardrops under his eyes and tattoos all over his face. The goal this week? Get a photo with him. He's so awesome! We met with him and his wife on Tuesday and they are so ready for the Gospel! Please be praying for them! They're awesome! 2) Our man Klaus is making progress! He didn't come to church this week, but we had an awesome lesson with him. We shared the Christ Child video with him, and it was so powerful. If you haven't seen it yet, GO WATCH IT! It's been my favorite part of the Christmas season so far. 3) I got to go on another exchange with Elder Jensen this week! LET'S GO! He's such a beast. N...

Speed Email

ONCE AGAIN A SPEED EMAIL! My time management skills? Down the drain. My bullet point abilities? At an all time high. If you want more information, please feel free to email me, but for the weekly info drop, it's another short list of highlights. FOR THIS WEEK'S STUFF THAT HAPPENED THAT I THOUGHT WAS COOL: - We had such a sick lesson with a guy named Grant this week! He's super cool and really searching, but he said he can't meet again until AFTER CHRISTMAS! That was just kind of the worst. So hopefully he still wants to talk after Christmas haha - Thanksgiving was so much fun! We went over to this awesome member family's house name the Langi's, and it was awesome! They have a little 3 year old daughter named Mia and she didn't disagree when I told her we are best friends so I think that's a strong sign of agreement. - On Thanksgiving some random guy named Muhammed who didn't speak English handed us his phone to talk to his son in Kuwait. So, we did t...

NOVEMBER IS WARM HERE

Hey you guys! So apparently I say I will get better at emails and then I turns out I only save 10 minutes to write these emails. Sorry about it. This week is going to be a short email, but this week was pretty great! I'll just hit the highlights! - We have had some awesome member meals this week, which has been great! We got fed by the Gonzalez family on Sunday which was so good! They don't speak English though, so that was quite the experience. I said lo siento a lot. - IT'S NOVEMBER AND 78 DEGREES! I'm loving it. I'm missing the snow, but I'm loving the sun. Since I can't ski, I think I prefer the sun right now. - We found a bunch of new people we're really excited about this week. We're hoping that they keep progressing! We have a ton of meetings set up for this next week, so we're crossing our fingers that they don't fall through. - Our friend Klaus came to church! He wore a Bane mask, so I could understand about 0% of the words he said...

BEE LARRY KING

Heyo everyone! Dang time flies on pday! I only have ten minutes to write this email, so it's going to be a short one. But it's all good! I'll just hit the highlights: - We drove all the way across our area in a car and then found out we didn't have the keys. It was iconic. - We had a guy on date to be baptized, but then he canceled it during our next meeting. Turns out he's a Neo-Nazi. Who would've thunk? I promise he didn't seem like a Neo-Nazi. It was quite the debacle. - We met a guy who's going to let me know when the new season of Attack On Titan comes out and tell me whether it's good or not. His name is DaQuarius. He's a beast. - We met a guy who claims he has first edition Jordan 1's. We're trying to meet with him on Thursday. You better believe I'm going to be checking if those bad boys are real. - In our apartment, sometimes it seems like we only speak through movie quotes. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Napoleon Dynamite...

Hey everyone! Man this week was something else. We got quarantined for three days! We have another companionship that we live with named Elder Noble and Elder Fazen, so that was nice to have some human interaction outside of our companionship. One of the zone leaders we had been with this week showed some signs of Coronavirus, so we had to stay inside for three days before we got his test results back. That was pretty much most of our week. We called a lot of people and cooked a lot of food. It was pretty rough, so I'm glad it was only 3 days! Sunday was awesome though. We taught some of our best investigators, which went awesome! If you guys would keep Kizito, DQ, and Richard in your prayers, that would be awesome! I also got to go on exchanges with Crew Jensen this week! For those of you who don't know, Elder Jensen and I went to high school together. He's an absolute beast! We had such a fun time, and I learned so much from him. He's a total beast of a missionary! So...
