I'M BACK BABY

Image
Hey everyone! We got transfer news yesterday, and I'm staying in the Richardson ward for another transfer! I'm so excited! This will be my 6th transfer here, so I pretty much live in this ward now. It's crazy! I love the people here, and I love the ward too. I'm so grateful to be back for another! Highlights for the week: - Cornelius loves that tithing is a thing, so he's set to be baptized in a couple of weeks! We're so excited for him! - Freeman accepted the Word of Wisdom with no holdups. It was awesome! We love him, and we can't wait for his baptism. - I got one of my teeth fixed. One of them is still broken, but the other looks real nice. Shout out to Dr. Seim for being a legend. - Our friend Lincoln let us know he wants to be baptized! We're just trying to help him get to church with his crazy work schedule, but he's coming this Sunday. He's such a stud! - We got accepted into a gang and they prayed with us on the street like 5 times. The ...

I Knocked My Tooth Out

Image
Hey everyone! The title is completely factual. I was biking down a road pretty fast (because there is no reason to go slow on the Lord's errand) and I was thinking pretty deeply about a lesson we had that night. Next thing I know I was on the ground and missing a tooth. I got thwacked by a pole that had a box hanging of it in the middle of the sidewalk. Said pole had its metal box suspended directly at the head level of Elder Horsley. I'm all good though! I have some bruises, but it doesn't really hurt or anything. It just looks funny. It was absolutely epic. Then a guy ran across the street to "heal" me. He had a skull mask on and it was incredible. I'm all good now! There is no residual damage. Now for other highlights of the week! - Jeffrey is on date! We're so excited for him! He will be baptized at the end of May, so that's super exciting. - Freeman and Cornelius were both super stoked that the Law of Chastity was a thing, so that's always goo...

MIRACLES!

Hey everyone! I hope you had an amazing week! I know we did! I'll just jump right into the highlights: - We went over to our friend Freeman's house on Tuesday to set up a lesson, and he ended up inviting us in. We got talking to him, and he goes "what did you say people need to do to become a member of the church again?". We told him "you just need to be baptized and be given the gift of the Holy Ghost", and then he said "OK can we do that today?" LIKE WHAT!!! It was so cool! We told him we still had more to teach him, but that he could get baptized in May. He's stoked about it! Please keep him in your prayers! - We had an awesome lesson with our friend Cornelius on Sunday as well. He's a stud! We taught him the Plan of Salvation, and he was like "wow that was the clearest anyone has ever explained that to me. I really like the way you guys teach, it's very good. There are no holes." It made us feel so good! Then we talked abo...

Accidental Buzz and EASTER!!!

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you had an awesome Easter! I know I did. I absolutely love being a missionary, and it was so special to be a missionary on Easter. The chance to remember and focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and having every else focus on it too, is an incredible experience. As a missionary I have the amazing priveledge to focus all my thoughts and efforts on studying, teaching, and using Christ's Atonement everyday. Don't ever underestimate the change Christ can make in your own life! The change He has made in mine is incredible, and I'm so grateful for the chance I have to spend two years of my life sharing the knowledge of Jesus Christ with everyone around me. It's already going by too fast, but I'm grateful for every moment I get! These last three weeks have been the fastest three weeks of my whole mission, and this last one was no exception. It's crazy how time flies! We had an awesome week, so I'll hit all the highlights: 1. Our friend Ebon...

Ferret Friends

Hey everyone! This week was one of the absolute fastest of my entire mission. Last night I looked at my companion Elder Gregerson and I was like "what the heck where did our week go?". The time just flew! We met a lot of new people, and we taught a ton of lessons. We were also able to put our friends Danniel and Yasmine on baptismal date. Please keep them in your prayers! Other highlights for the week = - Some random guy named Mycool stopped us so that he could talk to us, and when we tried to give him a Plan of Salvation pamphlet he struck a deal with us saying he would take it if he could play us a song. Then he played 4 songs. It was pretty epic, the songs were good 😂 - This gang of little kids on bikes were in the front of an apartment complex when we walked in, and they wanted to ride their bikes with us. They directed us to the apartment we were looking for, but we got to mob around with this huge group of kids for 20 minutes while we looked for the apartment. - I mad...

I'M GETTING A KID

Image
Hey everyone! Sorry this email will be so short! Today was crazy! I'm getting transfered, but I'm just going down to whitewash the Southern half of our ward because they're moving the sisters who were there out. I'm also going to be training a new missionary! I'm super excited to meet my "kid", and we're going to get some good work done down there. I will still be in the same ward, which is way funny because it will be my 5th transfer in this ward. I pretty much live here now, so they should just give me a calling already. Also, Elder Ames and I found an awesome lady this week named Shirley who wants to get baptized! Please keep her in your prayers! Spiritual thought for the week: John 17:3 = And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. We can experience life eternal starting here on this earth! All we have to do is come to know our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. We do thi...

Hey everyone! I honestly don't really know what to write in this weekly, so I guess I'll keep it short. Things were good this week! We got a ton of media referrals, which was super great. I think we had 4, and we were able to schedule lessons with them all. We also had some great lessons with our friends this week. The work is starting to roll out here in Richardson! We have a guy we've been teaching named Brian who's a absolute stud. He came to church on Sunday and after he told us that next fast Sunday he was going to go up and bear his testimony. I love that guy! He loves the Book of Mormon and has been reading a lot. Keep him in your prayers! Transfers are coming up this next week, so we will see if I'm going to a new area or not. I've been here for 4 transfers in my first area, so I may very well be moved, but my mission president loves to leave people where they are. We will see! I'm just hoping that whatever God wants for me, I can align my will with...
