Elder Schrute

Hey everyone! I honestly don't really know what to write in this weekly, so I guess I'll keep it short. Things were good this week! We got a ton of media referrals, which was super great. I think we had 4, and we were able to schedule lessons with them all. We also had some great lessons with our friends this week. The work is starting to roll out here in Richardson! We have a guy we've been teaching named Brian who's a absolute stud. He came to church on Sunday and after he told us that next fast Sunday he was going to go up and bear his testimony. I love that guy! He loves the Book of Mormon and has been reading a lot. Keep him in your prayers! Transfers are coming up this next week, so we will see if I'm going to a new area or not. I've been here for 4 transfers in my first area, so I may very well be moved, but my mission president loves to leave people where they are. We will see! I'm just hoping that whatever God wants for me, I can align my will with His. When we want what God wants, that is when we are truly happy. I know that for a fact! This week I've been thinking a lot about the gift of the Holy Ghost. How amazing is it that we can have divine guidance ALWAYS when we receive that gift? Having Him to always be with us is the greatest gift we can receive on this Earth. Let's not take it for granted! God cares about us so much that He provided a way for us to be able to hear Him always. I am so grateful for that! Even cooler than the fact that that gift exists is the fact that we can improve at always hearing the Holy Ghost, each and every day. As we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and come closer to our Father in Heaven, we can amplify our receptiveness to the Holy Ghost. In John 14:16-18, Jesus says: 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. We know Him. He is the Holy Ghost, and He comes to us as a comforter from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you have received the gift of the Holy Ghost, do everything you can to live worthy of His presence. If you have not, do everything you can to be baptized and receive the greatest gift we can have on this Earth. God wants us to hear His voice, and we do that by inviting His messenger, the Holy Ghost, into our lives. Do everything you can to get and keep Him in your lives, and He will guide you through the thick and the thin. Your Father in Heaven loves you, Jesus Christ loves you, the Holy Ghost loves you, and I love each and every one of you. Thank you so much for reading my emails! I hope they brighten your day as much as all the emails you send me. I may not always respond, but I read them all and I'm so grateful for everything you send me. You guys are the best! God bless, and have a great week! - Elder Horsley 1) Elder Schrute 2) Elder Schrute on exchanges with the District Leader
