This Week
Hey everybody, I hope you're doing great!
I had a stellar week this week, and a stellar pday too. All in all a 10/9 week.
- This week we invited our friend Ernest to be baptized, and he was all over it. He's so stoked to join the church! (Flashback to last week, this was the guy who just texted out of the blue and said "when can I get baptized".) He's such a stud. I asked him why he wanted to be baptized all of the sudden, and he told me that he just knew through the Holy Ghost that it was the right time. He's a stud.
- We talked with the legend Jana herself this week, and our lesson was about the temple. She has a huge desire to go to the temple, so hopefully she can pick a baptismal date soon and then head on over to the temple that's right near us!
- We had the most chaotic lesson of all time with our friend Toni. But she's cool though. There was just a cute dog and an angry Cafe owner, and those two things together were pretty distracting.
- Shounak is such a beast. He's from India, and he's really working on becoming a better person. I love meeting with him, and I'm stoked to keep meeting with him.
- My man David is from Ghana and trying to become a pastor, but he's so down with the Book of Mormon. I love that guy. Hopefully he's OK with the part of the church where there are no pastors.
- Amir is a studdddddd. He is from Bosnia, and has some legit good questions. He's loving meeting with us, and he's going to come to church this Sunday. He's not even Christian though, so that's sweet. He digs that part of the gospel of Jesus Christ is following the commandments. He thought that Christianity at large was like "hey guys, no more commandments now that the law of Moses is fulfilled", He was pleased when we shared with him that that was actually not the case.
- Christian is very interesting. He thinks very deeply and loves me for no reason at all. After our lesson on Tuesday he looks me in the eyes and says "thank you for putting this all together Horsley". I didn't even say that much, and plus we didn't even follow our lesson plan for that one, but whatever floats your boat Christian, I'm glad das es dir gefallen hat.
- Alicia! She is a legend. This lady legit just orders a copy of the Book of Mormon off an add on Facebook and then starts reading it and says "I believe everything I have read so far, this book showed up at the perfect time". She said that she is searching for something, and that she isn't yet baptized but is looking to be in the future. I'm really excited to see where things go with her!
Thanks for reading my book of an email! I love you all so much, and I know that Jesus is the Christ. He is there for all of us, and when we make the effort to sincerely find out if He is actually there, He takes the time to make it abundantly clear that He is right there beside us.
D&C 88:63
Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Those are the words straight from Jesus's mouth. Try it out. You effort will be rewarded more than you could ever imagine.
I love you all so much!
