Elder Calder Horsley

Hey everyone! I ran out of time to write last week, but no worries, this one will be twice as good to make up for it. This was an awesome week! It definitely went by quickly, and by the end I was exhausted. We worked really hard, and we had a good time. Our friends are doing great as well! I just wanted to hit on a highlight from our friend Shounak this week. When we met him about a month ago, he told us that he had absolutely no concept of God or how we can have a relationship with God. This week, during our lesson, Elder Berndt was testifying of Jesus Christ as our Savior, and Shounak replied by saying "I completely agree". It was super cool, and awesome to feel the Spirit at that moment. Even though we haven't been teaching him for very long, Shounak has felt the power of Jesus Chirst through the Book of Mormon and the Holy Ghost. The sun is out and the heat is on, summer is here in Germany and it is epic. This last winter was pretty gray, so I'm loving the nice weather we've been having. This week was another awesome one! Some highlights were meeting with our beast mode friends like Alicia & Reiner (Reiner is 62, not a member, and telling Alicia on the second lesson that she should probably get baptized into the church haha), having a bunch of new people come to church, and volunteering at this mega Ukrainian kids festival at a nightclub here in Frankfurt. I will attach pictures. So our mission president called me about 2 weeks ago to ask me to be a translator at this party. President Hammon knows the guy who put it all together, and he volunteered the missionaries who served in Ukraine for it. So I rolled up for the second shift in the day, and I was the only translator there. Translating consisted of yelling at people that they needed to dance more and introducing all the acts for the kids. Whe...

Hey everybody, I hope you're doing great! I had a stellar week this week, and a stellar pday too. All in all a 10/9 week. - This week we invited our friend Ernest to be baptized, and he was all over it. He's so stoked to join the church! (Flashback to last week, this was the guy who just texted out of the blue and said "when can I get baptized".) He's such a stud. I asked him why he wanted to be baptized all of the sudden, and he told me that he just knew through the Holy Ghost that it was the right time. He's a stud. - We talked with the legend Jana herself this week, and our lesson was about the temple. She has a huge desire to go to the temple, so hopefully she can pick a baptismal date soon and then head on over to the temple that's right near us! - We had the most chaotic lesson of all time with our friend Toni. But she's cool though. There was just a cute dog and an angry Cafe owner, and those two things together were pretty distracting. - ...
