Вони Скрізь 🇺🇦 -- (They Are Everywhere 🇺🇦)

It is time for another weekly email. Let's get stoked 😎 I didn't send an email last week, so I will try to make this one so good that I makes up for it. We had a great week! Things are going well here in Offenbach, and we're having a grand old time in the fabulous month of April. Here are some highlights from the past few weeks: - We found this super cool guy named Omid. He's from Pakistan (or somewhere around there), and when we told him about the Book of Mormon, he was all for it. He was like "oh man you've got to come to my home so that you can share this with my whole family". Gerne Omid, gerne. - Our boy Christian is doing well haha. He's this 50 year old guy from Romania, and he is super intense. After we ever say anything, he always goes "Why?". The other day I said "I'm super excited for Easter in Germany!" and he was like "Why? What makes it any different than in America?" It makes lessons interesting. - Toni is super cool! She's sick right now, so please pray for her. We've been meeting with her more regularly, and we told her "OK Toni we've got 5 lessons that prepare people for baptism. We want to share them with you, and we will give you invitations to read in the Book of Mormon and pray about what we have said. Are you down?". She proceeded to say that getting baptized twice was weird but that she would love to take the lessons. So fingers crossed there, the Holy Ghost does good work. We will see what happens. - Jana is an unbaptized youth in our ward right now, she's 16 years old. We are working hard to help her get baptized, but she keeps wanting to wait for "the summer". Kinda weird. Anyways, she went on a youth temple road trip or something to the temple in Freiberg this last week (let's go), so we texted her to see how it went. She texted back saying that she thought it was messed up that they wouldn't let her into the temple. Well Jana, you don't have a temple recommend, and also you aren't a baptized member of the church, so hold your horses there. I told her that in my next text and then she left me on read haha. - So there is this less Active member who's technically in our branch, but he lives in China. His name is Liming. He got baptized in Germany, but moved to China and works for the government. So for him, religion is currently illegal. But he balls out and reads the Book of Mormon every day anyways. He's so cool, he was talking about how he was going to pave the way for the church in China and how that was his calling in life. So for all you Chinese immersion students, I know your future mission president. - We also have a guy in our ward named Peter who absolutely loves Elder Berndt. He said he was going to call our mission president in order to ask if we could stay at his house for 3 hours instead of 45 minutes. Elder Berndt thought he was joking, but I'm pretty sure he was being serious. I love y'all so much! And I am so excited for Easter this week. I've been studying about the last few days of our Savior's mortal life, and I'm so amazed at all the knowledge and insight we have from the Book of Mormon and Bible. There were two sections in particular that really stood out to me. Mosiah 15:7-9 (7) Yea, even so he shall be led, crucified, and slain, the flesh becoming subject even unto death, the will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father. (8) And thus God breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death; giving the Son power to make intercession for the children of men— (9) Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; standing betwixt them and justice; having broken the bands of death, taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them, and satisfied the demands of justice. Isaiah 25:8-9 (8) He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. (9) And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Happy Easter. And don't forget, Jesus Christ did not only sacrifice His mortal life for you. He consecrated His eternal life for you. I love you all so much, - Elder Horsley
