I Bought Another Cool Shirt This Week Because #impulsebuy
Hey everyone!
This was a great week! We had a lot happen, so I'll just hit the highlights.
- Our friends Kym and Rodney are on date for baptism now. Please keep them in your prayers!
- We found an Arabic Book of Mormon and gave it to our friend Zaid and he is stoked to have it! He's been inviting his friends to meet with us and come to church with him. He's a beast!
- We received a media referral under the name of Death Metal last week, and we totally thought it was a joke. Turns out his real name is Brian and he's really interested! We've been teaching him and he absolutely loves what we have to say.
- We helped two members move out this week, so now we're in tight with not only our Elder's Quorum presidency, but the rest of the guys in the Garland 3rd ward as well.
- We got bashed by a Buddhist guy during our weekly Donut Saturday tradition. That was really weird I really didn't understand what was happening.
- We got soaked by rain during our ride home from an appointment on Thursday. It was like we went through a car wash, but we say some awesome lightning.
Thank you all so much for reading these emails! I'm so happy I have such great support, and I hope you get something out of these emails. I feel like I've learned so much from being a missionary, and I hope the messages I try to covey carry the same spiritual power into your lives that they have carried into mine. This sharing is actually what I want to talk about today. A topic I've been thinking about a lot these last few days has been grace. There's a verse that stuck out to me as I read in the book of Jacob this week. It's Jacob 4:7, and it reads:
"Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do these things."
The grace of Christ means so much to me. I heard a quote this week that brought me so much peace. It said "Christ doesn't just make up the difference between us and God when we fall short; He is the entire difference always". That grace of Christ means so much to me as a missionary, because it means when I fall short by forgetting to mention something in a lesson, by being late to an appointment, or by lacking in patience, I can take comfort in knowing that my Father in Heaven still is proud of me for doing all that I can. I'm so grateful for that gift, and for all that my Savior Jesus Christ has done for me. I love Him so much, and I know that He loves you. Don't ever forget it.
Have the best week ever everyone! I hope you each have a chance to recognize the hand of God in your life this week. He is there, and He is watching out for you. Look and listen for Him this next week! I promise you will have an amazing witness of His love for you. I love you all!
