I Bought a Super Cool Shirt

Hey everyone! I hope everyone has been doing well! We got in a good week of biking on the snow, so my legs were pretty tired by the end of the week. Luckily all the snow we got from this winter storm melted, so we're back to biking on asphalt. Asphalt is a tender mercy. I'm so grateful for it! I don't have a ton to report on, but we had a great week! We had a lot of great lessons with our friends, and I've been letting everyone know that our goal is to baptize them. Some have laughed, but they have all taken it super well so far. I thought it would've been more awkward and people would've been more against working towards that, but so far everyone has been cool with the idea that we're trying to do that. We haven't put any of our friends on baptismal date yet, but they're definitely progressing! It's very fun to see. I love having a front row seat as I watch these people let the power of Jesus Christ into their lives. It is incredible! Being a missionary brings me so much happiness, and I'm so grateful for each and every day that I have to serve in this capacity. There truly is no greater work on this Earth! The scripture I want to talk about today is one of (if not the) shortest scripture in the whole Bible. It's John 11:35, which says "Jesus wept." I heard one of the most powerful insights of my entire life this last week. Someone I look up to very much told me "Jesus wept so we wouldn't be afraid to". There is so much peace in that. Christ loves us, and He cried for us so that we would know that it is OK when we cry. We all cry sometimes, because sometimes, we all face trials that seem like they will break us, sometimes, we all feel inadequate for the work we're called to, and sometimes, we all fall short of the goals we have set for ourselves. Jesus has felt what we feel, and He is there for us. Some of the times I have felt closest to Christ have been when I was crying. It sounds strange, but it is true. Christ is always there for us, especially when we feel the most alone or discouraged. He loves us, and He knows us. Let Him in, and He will change your life. He is always there to give us a hug. One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Nephi 1:15. 15 But behold, the Lord hath redeemed my soul from hell; I have beheld his glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of his love I have felt that love this week. I know Jesus Christ loves me, even when I fall short. I'm so grateful for that knowledge. I hope you all have the best week ever! Remember, the church is true and Christ loves you! Thank you for all your emails! Sorry that I'm so bad at responding. I want you to know that I read them all, and they all bring a huge smile to my face! Your love and prayers mean the world. I love you all! - Elder Horsley
