TEXAS BABY

Hey everyone! I made it to Texas alive and well! I'm in the Richardson area, and I'm loving it! My trainer is named Elder Leonardson, and he's a pretty funny guy. We live with two other elders in a pretty great apartment, and it's been so fun! They are Spanish seeking elders, and their names are Elder Jones and Elder Ward. I love them they're super funny. We also had to break into our apartment twice so far, so yeah we're thriving if you can't tell. I also got here and found out I'm the same district as my friend from high school Crew Jensen. It's been way fun having him here, he's an awesome missionary. Our district is super cool, and I love everyone in it. Also, the weather here is amazing. It's sunny but not cook Elder Horsley alive hot, so that's a definite plus. It was super hard to say goodbye to my family on Monday, but I was so excited to get to Texas, so when I got here I was stoked! President and Sister Farley are the literal nicest people ever, plus they gave me a bunch of garden salsa sun chips (Joe's crab shack am I right?) when I was at the mission home. I had an interview with President, and then I got my companion the next day. We got to our area and found out that we were going to be whitewashing it! That's been super fun, and I love everyone we've met so far. Texas is awesome! The biggest difference is there are no mountains and also cockroaches. My roach kill streak is at like 15 right now. I'm thinking I'll be a registered exterminator after my time here from all the bugs I've killed. I'm also in a biking zone, which has been awesome! I've loved riding bikes around, because the weather has been amazing. We're kind of bad at directions but we're getting better haha. One day it will only take us 10 minutes to get to the church instead of 20, I just know it. We also got a member dinner last night, and it was so good! They fed us ribs and it was actually divine. Also, conference this weekend was amazing! Anyone who didn't have the chance to watch it, please go read the talks when they are released! They were so good and full of inspired messages we all need to hear right now! Scripture of the week = 2 Nephi 4:34-35 When we put our trust in people and ourselves to deliver us, we are often let down. No one is perfect, and as such there is no one who can perfectly help us in every situation. When we expect to rely wholey upon ourselves or other people, we will be let down because as people we often don't quite reach the bar that's needed. However, there is one that will always be able to give us exactly what we need in any situation, and that's Jesus Christ. He knows he exactly what we need, and is always willing to help us. So, let us put our trust in the Lord. I know that as we do, we will find that our problems may not go away, but we will be better equipped to handle them in the best possible way. I love being a missionary! There's nothing I'd rather be doing right now! - Старійшна Horsley 1. Conference baby! 2. We stacked all these 100 lbs bags of clothes for some service 3.
