to me
Heyo everyone!
I hope you're all doing awesome! I don't have a ton of time to write this email, so it'll be shoet, but it was yet another wonderful week in the grand state of Texas. I'm getting peer pressured to vote every single time I talk to anyone, which I guess should be expected. Haha there are a lot of opinions out here, and people really like to make them known to us. Kind of awkward sometimes because we have to tell them "hey we can't talk about politics", but they're nice anyways. Between Jesus and politics, I think I'll always have something to talk to these people about. We had some awesome dinners with members this week, and they were so much fun! Getting fed by members is always great, especially when they give you stuff like ribs and ribs and also ribs and sometimes they switch it up with ribs. Haha, just kidding, we've had other food but we've had ribs a lot and I LOVE THEM they're so good. Our ward is awesome! It's been super fun to get to know them and insert ourselves into the ward. We also met some new people this week! If you all would, we would love to ask for your prayers for our friends Krannah, Karleen, Draelyn, Richard, and of course the icon Jim himself. Our lesson with him was quite the experience, especially when it devolved into a conversation about how we needed to stay in our area and then Jim complaining about "how we can't have fun" and then proceeding to almost leave the mission while we were still in the car. We were originally just going to go get some fast food just down the street, but he had a different idea. We got it under control though. He's a way cool guy, we love him. We also had Elder McKay of the seventy in our mission this week and share some messages with us. He talked about finding people who would let God prevail in their lives, regardless of whether or not they had any previous faith in Christ. It was awesome! We also got to hear from our mission president, president Farley. He and his wife are so amazing, and I love them so much. Texas is a great place to be!
When my companion and I were doing companionship study this week, we decided to read a talk called Taking Upon Ourselves the Name of Christ, and it was incredible. One thing that really stuck out to me was the following statement:
"In any of life’s travels, why would you ever turn away from the only Savior who has all power to heal and deliver you? Whatever the price you must pay to trust Him is worth it."
I have experienced this first hand this last week, and I would just like to testify to each of you that trusting in Christ is worth any price you must pay to do so. He is always there to help us. He is always there to love us. He will never turn away from us. I know this to be true, because I have felt this love in my own life many times, and especially in my hardest trials. Never forget Christ and what He is capable and willing to do for you, because He will never forget you and He always knows exactly what we need. He is always watching out for each and every one of us. Don't take that gift for granted. It's one of infinite worth.
I love you all so much, and I hope you have the best weeks ever! Until next time!
