День Народження Місіонера - (Missionary's Birthday)

Image
HEYO EVERYONE! It feels crazy to say, but this is my last email from home! I'm officially two months into my mission, and now I'm leaving for the field FOR REAL! I'm so excited! My flight heads out on the 28th of September, and I really just can't wait to start serving the people of Texas and eventually, Ukraine. I already have such a love for all of them, and I cannot wait to get there! Elder Hasson and I are still at home for a layover week this week, but Elder Key already left and he is KILLING IT out in North Dakota. I have loved this companionship, and I'm so grateful I got to spend so much time with these two awesome Elders! I'm sad it had to come to a close, but you better believe we're kidnapping Elder Key from the Air Force Academy for a week when we get back. Looking back on my time in the MTC, I would not trade it for the world. I know I said this last week, but home MTC has seriously been such a huge blessing. I've grown so much closer with m...

9th Week of MTC

Image
Hey Everyone! Well, this is it! Right now I am in the middle of my 9th week of MTC training. It really just flew by, and it's kind of crazy to think that just a couple of months ago I didn't know any Ukrainian or anyone in my district. Now, these people have become some of my best friends, and I have come to love the Ukrainian language despite my challenges with it. I would not trade my time in home MTC for anything, and honestly, for anyone who will be doing home MTC themselves, I just have to say that you're very lucky. There are only a few missionaries who will ever get to do this, and I'm so grateful that I got to be one of them. Now, with the way things work out with my schedule and the next transfer date in Dallas, I won't be heading out there until the 28th of September. After this week, I will have one last week at home with my family and then I'm OUT OF HERE. I'm so excited to get to Dallas! There's only so much that I can write about with the h...

Тиждень Вісім - Week Eight

Image
Hey Everyone! It literally feels like it has been one day since I sent out an email, except it has been a week and now I'm sitting here at my desk typing on a computer and wondering what on Earth actually happened during the last seven days. I know a ton of stuff happened, but now everything in the MTC is blurring together and I don't actually know what was this week or last week or next week or anything haha. All I know is that my time in the MTC is almost done! Next week is my last week that I will spend in the MTC, which is just insane to me! At the end of next week, I will have been a missionary for TWO ENTIRE MONTHS, which does not feel real. I'm so happy for my 9 weeks in the MTC, because they have been awesome. Honestly, at first I was really worried about it and I thought spending two months in the MTC was going to be pretty brutal, but I wouldn't trade this time for the world. I have loved getting to know both of my companions, Elder Hasson and Elder Key, and I...

Мені Не Подобається Мухі (I Don't Like Flies)

Image
HELLO EVERYONE! I just spent a good 20 minutes of my pday trying to kill a fly that was hanging out in my room so if this email isn't as long as the ones I usually send it's because I had to donate a significant chunk of my time to being an exterminator just barely. But, in spite of that little detour, my pday has been great today! I got together with some other Elders to play some pickleball today, and that was a total highlight of my week. I also totally forgot to get a photo, so if you're reading this just imagine three people who are really good at pickleball and then some random Ukrainian Elder who for some reason keeps hitting the ball into any other court but the one he's in and you'll have yourself a very accurate picture of what was going on. That was such a fun time, and it was fun to see Elder Lloyd for a bit because he leaves for his reassignment in the Arizona Tucson mission on Tuesday! I'm so excited for him, and I can't wait to see all the goo...
