Elder Calder Horsley

Hey everyone! This is officially my record for the earliest email I have ever written. I am currently sitting in my apartment and it is 7:19 AM here. I am very proud of my efforts, to say the least. We had an awesome week! We have been getting to know the members in our ward, and it's so cool to see their missionary mentality. They are so stoked to have us here, and they are constantly trying to help us out! We love it! Влад (Vlad) and Оксана (Oksana) are both progressing well still. They came to church and they both loved it! After church, we realized that I had double booked lessons, and so we had to teach Влад and Сергій (Serhii) at the same time haha. That was kind of wild, but now Влад understands the Word of Wisdom and Сергій thinks it means reading Psalms. Just one example of how helpful it is to listen when people talk to you haha! Hey y'all! It was a crazy week, that's for sure. Last week I had no time because I got transferred, and now I'm in the city of Kyiv! And I'm serving in a ward, so that's pretty beast mode. Also, the temple and our church building are right next door to each other. I hadn't even been on temple grounds since the 26th of September in 2020 (if I remember right), and now I'm there almost every day. It's been sweet! I will miss Lviv, but I'll be back there eventually, no worries. We're whitewashing our area, and we've got a lot of work to do. However, our one friend Влад has accepted a baptismal date, and I'm super excited for him! He's got cool tattoos, so it's fun to ask him about them haha. My new companion is named Elder Walbruch, and he and I were in the same MTC district. It's been pretty fun catching up with him! I'm excited for this new transfer. It's going to be full of challenges, but it'll build character that...

I have no time today, but I want to say I love you ❤️ Have a great week! Calder was transfered from Lviv to Kyiv and spent his p-day waking up at 3am and traveling eight hours on a train. It was hard to leave Lviv but he's excited about the adventure ahead in Kyiv. Hopefully we will get more information next week. - Catherine

Heyo! I saw a racoon today. I hope your day was super awesome! I myself had a great pday today. We went to this huge old cemetery in Lviv and then to a crazy children's zoo. We had a super good time! I don't have a ton of time though, so I will just hit you with the highlights of the week! - Настія (Nastia) texted us out of the blue on Sunday and said "I want to be baptized" and it was SWEET! Now she's on baptismal date! - Василь (Vasil) will hopefully be getting baptized this week!
